The M280 microscope is equipped with four achromatic DIN flatfield objectives, with optional Semi-plan and Plan objectives available for enhanced clarity. These color-coded, polished objectives are both parfocal and parcentered, ensuring consistent image quality and easy transitions between magnifications. The 100X oil and 40X high dry objectives feature a spring-loaded design to prevent damage and extend their lifespan.

Each microscope includes two Widefield 10X 18mm eyepieces, providing a broad and clear field of view. The binocular head is a 45° inclined Siedentopf style, adjustable for individual comfort and positioning. The standard eyepiece tube size is 23.2mm, ensuring compatibility with various accessories.

Additional features of the M280 Series include a large mechanical stage (128mm x 128mm) with low-mounted coaxial controls, allowing for precise specimen manipulation. The stage includes an adjustable upper-movement limit (safety lock) to protect both slides and objectives. The coaxial coarse and graduated fine focusing knobs offer smooth, accurate adjustments with tension control, while the focusable Abbe condenser (N.A. 1.25) with iris diaphragm provides optimal light management for detailed observations.
